Great experience for young children, ideal from 4 to 8. 5 o'clock train is ideal.
Ourselves and another couple drove from Indianapolis to Connersville for the Polar Express train ride. Yes, we are in our 20's but we were treated horrible. We made a date night out of this and thought it would be a fun thing to do. We paid our $35 like everyone else and we did not get a bell. What is more frustrating is that when "Santa" went from cart to cart, he almost by-passed ours completely. Fine. I get it. We know we are too old to tell "Santa" what we want for Christmas. He could have at least chatted for a min and gave us each a bell. He only talked to one girl in our group and gave her a bell, the rest of us did not get one. I was looking forward to getting a bell and hanging it on our Christmas tree every year to remember our trip by. That just left me completely bitter. They took the fun out of our trip and it was not very Christmas-spirited to do at all. Especially when the workers (who were too old to believe in Santa as well) were given bells!! We were planning to make this a yearly thing and bring our children to this particular train station (both of us ladies are expecting) and we have decided we will not pick the Whitewater Valley Railroad for the next "Polar Express" ride!
Kids had a wonderful experience. For the train enthusiast it was cool to see classic passenger cars and a classic New York Central diesel. It was a two hour excursion.
We rode the Polar Express in 2016 and then brought the while family, 19 of US (ages 2 to 69) back in 2017. I could not have been happier.
Took my father, adult son, his wife, and my grandaughter on the Polar Express. Was very pleased with the whole experience and we plan to make this a yearly event!
